About this experience

ONE Ocean is an interactive exhibition at Science Centre Singapore that turns marine science into a hands-on journey through the deep sea. Built on research from the Tara Ocean Foundation and produced by Ride FX, it moves you through 10 zones combining 2D and 3D animation, large-scale projections, spatial sound and tactile installations. Along the way you'll meet six deep-ocean creatures and encounter stories from distant seas, with the gallery designed to respond to how you explore it rather than follow a fixed script.

What sets this exhibition apart in Singapore is the free-roaming VR component, which pushes past what the physical gallery can show and takes you further into open water. A dedicated mission space uses panoramic 360-degree video projections to walk you through seven distinct ocean wonders, while interactive stations let you set global currents in motion or watch sketched animals come alive on screen.

Entry is ticketed by date and timeslot, with complimentary Science Centre admission included. You can enter the exhibition any time within your allocated slot, and once inside it's a one-way visit — plan for a single, uninterrupted pass through all 10 zones.

What to expect

Your visit starts with entry into the exhibition at any point within your booked timeslot, where you're guided into the first of 10 zones combining animation, projection and sound. As you move through, the gallery shifts between quieter, story-driven moments and larger sensory sequences, introducing six deep-ocean creatures and tales from distant seas along the way. Interactive stations let you get hands-on — animating sketched creatures, triggering ocean currents, or stepping into the role of a deep-sea animal yourself.

If you've added the VR upgrade, you'll head into a free-roaming virtual reality segment that takes the experience beyond the physical gallery space. A panoramic 360-degree mission room follows, projecting seven ocean wonders around you for an immersive close to the visit. Once you exit, there's no re-entry, so the full journey — gallery zones, interactive moments and VR — runs as one continuous experience.

Things to note

  • General exhibition is recommended for visitors aged 5 and above; the VR experience is recommended for ages 9 and up
  • Last entry is at 4:15pm, so plan your visit time accordingly
  • Entry is a single pass only — there's no re-entry once you leave the exhibition
  • You can enter any time within your booked timeslot, so there's no need to arrive right at the start
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as the free-roaming VR section involves physical movement
  • The exhibition is closed on Mondays, except during gazetted school holidays and public holidays
