About this experience

This full-day boat trip takes you along one of Sicily's most striking coastlines, from the sea caves near Castellammare del Golfo into the Zingaro Natural Reserve. The boat cruises 7 kilometres of protected shoreline dotted with coves and hidden beaches, stopping at Cala Uzzo for a swim in clear, fish-filled water inside the reserve itself. It's a stretch of coast that's largely inaccessible by road, so seeing it from the water is the main draw.

Midway through the day, the boat docks at San Vito Lo Capo, giving you 4 hours of free time to explore the village and its crescent-shaped beach, a 7-minute walk from the port. Wander the town center, try local couscous or sample the region's gelato, and swim in the shallow turquoise water before reboarding. On the return leg, the boat stops once more at the Faraglioni di Scopello, where you can swim in front of the old Tonnara and the sea stacks that rise straight out of the water.

Departing from central Palermo, this day trip covers Castellammare del Golfo, the Zingaro Reserve, San Vito Lo Capo and Scopello in a single outing, with the boat returning to Castellammare del Golfo port at the end of the day. An optional transfer connects you back to Palermo for those without their own transport.

What to expect

The day starts with pick-up from central Palermo and a transfer to Castellammare del Golfo, where the boat departs at 09:30. You'll first pass sea caves along the coast before entering the Zingaro Natural Reserve, stopping at Cala Uzzo for a swim in the reserve's clear water. Around 11:30, the boat docks at San Vito Lo Capo, leaving you free until 15:30 to walk the short distance into the village, relax on the beach or explore the center.

Once back on board, the boat heads toward Scopello for a final swim near the Faraglioni sea stacks and the old Tonnara, before returning to Castellammare del Golfo at around 17:30. From there, an optional transfer brings you back to Palermo by around 18:30, wrapping up a full day on Sicily's northwest coast.
