About this experience

This full-day tour traces the coastline between Nice and Monaco, stopping at some of the French Riviera's most photographed spots along the way. You'll start with a panoramic view over Nice from Mt. Boron before heading up the Middle Corniche to Eze, a medieval village perched on a rocky outcrop, where cobbled lanes lead past craft shops and a traditional perfumery offering a guided look at how Provençal fragrances are made.

From there, the route continues into Monaco, where you'll walk through the Old Town on 'the Rock' before touring Monte-Carlo and driving along sections of the Grand Prix circuit. Free time at Casino Square lets you wander the gardens, browse the boutiques, or take in the yachts moored nearby at your own pace.

The return leg follows the Lower Corniche, one of three coast roads linking Nice and Monaco, passing Mediterranean fishing villages and modern marinas before reaching the Bay and Citadel of Villefranche. It's a way to see the Riviera's contrasts in a single day — medieval stone villages, Belle Époque casinos and a coastline that shifts from cliffside to harbor the whole way back.

What to expect

The day begins with a scenic overlook of Nice from Mt. Boron before the route climbs the Middle Corniche to Eze. Here you'll explore the medieval village on foot, browse its craft shops, and join a guided visit to a traditional perfumery to learn how local fragrances are made from Provençal ingredients.

From Eze, the tour continues into Monaco for a walk through the Old Town, followed by a drive through Monte-Carlo along part of the Grand Prix circuit. Free time at Casino Square lets you explore the gardens, shops, and casino district independently before the drive back to Nice along the Lower Corniche, passing Mediterranean villages, marinas, and the Bay of Villefranche.

Things to note

  • Wear comfortable shoes, as Eze's village streets are cobbled and involve some walking uphill
  • Bring a light jacket even in warmer months, as coastal viewpoints can be breezy
  • Casino Square in Monte-Carlo is a good spot for photos of the yachts and Belle Époque architecture
  • Free time at Casino Square is unstructured, so decide in advance whether you want to shop, walk, or simply relax
  • A camera or phone with plenty of storage is worth having on hand for the coastal viewpoints along the Corniches
  • Sunglasses are useful given the amount of time spent outdoors along open coastal roads
