About this experience

This half-day trip takes you out of Nice to three of the Côte d'Azur's best-known spots along the coast. You'll start with a drive that takes in panoramic views over Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat before reaching Eze, a medieval village built into the hillside like an eagle's nest, where narrow stone lanes lead up to the old fortifications.

From Eze, you'll head to the Fragonard perfumery for a guided look at how perfume is made, before continuing on to Monaco. Here you can walk through the old town, see the princely palace and the neo-Romanesque cathedral, and pass by Casino Square with its luxury boutiques and the Café de Paris. The route also covers a stretch of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, taking you from Monaco to Monte-Carlo.

Covering three destinations in one morning or afternoon, this trip is a compact way to see the highlights of the principality and the villages above Nice without organising transport yourself. It runs as either a non-private or private tour, depending on which ticket type you choose.

What to expect

You'll be picked up from your accommodation in Nice, either in the morning or afternoon, and set off along the coast with views over Villefranche-sur-Mer and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. The first stop is Eze, where you can wander the medieval village on foot and visit the Fragonard perfumery for a free guided tour explaining how perfume is produced.

From there, you're driven to Monaco for a walk through the old town, taking in the princely palace, the neo-Romanesque cathedral, and Casino Square with its boutiques and the Grand Casino. The trip finishes with a drive along part of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit between Monaco and Monte-Carlo, before returning you to Nice.

Things to note

  • Wear comfortable shoes, as Eze's old village is built on steep, narrow cobbled streets
  • Bring a light jacket if visiting in cooler months, as the hillside villages can be breezy
  • Have your camera ready for the coastal viewpoints along the drive
  • Bring a valid ID, as the trip crosses into the Principality of Monaco
  • Casual, comfortable clothing works best given the amount of walking involved
  • A private tour ticket is worth considering if you'd prefer a more flexible pace
