About this experience

Pulau Pari sits in the Southern Thousand Islands, a couple of hours by boat from Jakarta, and this 2-day 1-night open trip covers the island's best spots without you having to plan the logistics. Ferries depart from either Kaliadem Pier at Muara Angke or Marina Ancol Pier, and the trip is run as a sharing group, so solo travellers can join alongside other guests.

The first day covers a boat trip out to a snorkelling spot, a bike ride across the island to Pasir Perawan Beach in time for sunset, and a fish barbecue on the sand once evening sets in. Day two starts early with a sunrise view from Pari Pier, followed by breakfast, another cycle to Pasir Perawan Beach, and time to pack up before the return ferry to Jakarta. Round-trip ferry tickets, three meals, one night in an air-conditioned homestay, snorkelling gear, bicycle use and underwater photo documentation are all included in the price.

What to expect

The trip begins with a ferry departure from either Kaliadem Pier at Muara Angke or Marina Ancol Pier, arriving on Pulau Pari in time for lunch and homestay check-in. The afternoon moves fast: a boat ride out to a snorkelling spot, then a bike ride across the island to Pasir Perawan Beach for sunset, followed by a fish barbecue dinner on the beach as night falls.

Day two starts before sunrise with a walk to Pari Pier to watch the sky change colour over the water, then breakfast back at the homestay. A final cycle around the island to Pasir Perawan Beach fills the late morning before you pack up and board the ferry back to Jakarta, wrapping up the two-day trip.

Things to note

 • Bring high-SPF sunscreen, a hat and a reusable water bottle — most of the trip takes place outdoors
 • Pack a swimsuit, towel, sandals and quick-dry clothing for snorkelling and beach time
 • The homestay doesn't provide bathroom amenities, so bring your own toiletries and a towel
 • Bring an extension cord or power bank if you need to charge devices overnight
 • Departures run on Saturdays, so plan your travel to Muara Angke or Ancol accordingly
 • A valid Indonesian ID (KTP) is required, as this trip is open to Indonesian nationals only
