From Inverness: Glen Affric, Culloden and Clava Cairns Tour

This full-day tour takes you out of Inverness and into some of the Scottish Highlands' most significant historical and natural sites. You'll start at Clava Cairns, a Bronze Age burial ground that has stood for around 4,000 years, before moving on to Culloden, where a visitor centre tells the story of the 1745 battle that marked the end of the Jacobite uprisings and the last battle fought on British soil.

From there, the tour heads into Glen Affric, where single-track lanes wind through a Caledonian pine forest. Your guide leads you to viewpoints over Loch Affric and the surrounding mountains, along with waterfalls and photo spots along the way. You'll also stop at Beauly Priory, a monastery dating back to the 13th century, before finishing at the shores of Loch Ness on the way back to Inverness.

It's a way to cover several of the Highlands' most storied locations in a single day, with a guide on hand throughout to fill in the historical detail behind Culloden's battlefield and the ancient stones at Clava Cairns.

The day begins with a morning departure from Inverness, heading first to Clava Cairns to explore the Bronze Age graveyard. From there, you'll continue to Culloden, spending time in the visitor centre and on the battlefield itself, learning about the uprisings that led to the 1745 battle.

The tour then moves to Glen Affric, where you'll walk among pine trees and stop at scenic viewpoints and waterfalls with your guide. Beauly Priory's 13th-century ruins are next, followed by a stop at Loch Ness, before the tour heads back into Inverness in the early evening.
