Trade Dubai's skyline for the open desert on this 6-hour evening safari, riding out in a 4WD Land Cruiser for a spot of dune bashing before the landscape opens up into rolling sand as far as you can see. The route takes you across the desert with stops for photos along the way, including a visit to a camel farm, before you settle in to watch the sun go down over the dunes.
At the Bedouin-style desert camp, the evening unfolds at its own pace. Take a camel ride, get henna painted onto your hands or feet, and try a puff of Arabic shisha before sitting down to a BBQ dinner served under the open sky. As night falls, a belly dance performance plays out around the campfire, rounding off the evening in the middle of the desert.
This desert safari is a straightforward way to see a side of Dubai that's completely different from the city's towers and malls. You'll be back in Dubai or Sharjah by around 9pm, with the whole experience built around a single continuous 6-hour trip.
What to expect
The safari departs Dubai in the afternoon, heading straight into the desert by 4WD Land Cruiser. Along the way there are photo stops during the dune bashing drive and a visit to a camel farm, before the convoy pauses to watch the sunset over the dunes on the way to the Bedouin-style camp.
Once at the camp, you can take a camel ride, have henna applied to your hands or feet, and try Arabic shisha before sitting down to a BBQ dinner. The evening closes with a belly dance performance around the campfire under the stars, with return to Dubai or Sharjah at approximately 9pm.
