About this experience
Sentul, at the foot of Mount Jonggol near Bogor, offers some of the most varied trekking terrain within reach of Jakarta. This guided nature trekking experience gives you 10 route options, from easy rice-field walks to multi-hour jungle trails, so you can pick a trek that matches your fitness level and how much time you've got.

Every route is led by a professional trekking guide familiar with the local terrain, and paths wind past active rice paddies, through river crossings, into caves and up to hillside viewpoints. Depending on the route you choose, you'll pass waterfalls including Leuwi Asih, Bidadari, Cibingbin, Hordeng or Leuwi Hejo — each with its own character, from narrow jungle-fed cascades to wider swimming spots.

A minimum of 3 participants is required per booking. Each of the 10 routes has its own difficulty rating, distance and estimated duration, so you'll know what you're signing up for before you head out into Sentul's hills and jungle.
What to expect
You'll meet your guide at the designated meeting point in Sentul 15 minutes before departure, then set off on the route you've chosen — whether that's a gentle walk past rice paddies or a longer push into jungle terrain. Trekking poles and mineral water are provided, and your guide leads the way, pointing out terrain features and managing river crossings or cave sections along the way.

Depending on your route, the trek builds toward a waterfall such as Leuwi Hejo or Curug Bidadari, where you can pause, take photos or cool off before heading back. Total time on the trail varies by route, from a couple of hours on the easier options to a full multi-hour trek on the harder trails, so it's worth checking your chosen route's listed duration before you set off.
Things to note
- Wear proper trekking shoes or sneakers — sandals, flip-flops and high heels aren't permitted on the trail
- Bring quick-dry clothing rather than formal or non-athletic wear, as several routes involve river crossings
- Pack a hat, sunscreen, personal medication and a reusable water bottle for the duration of your trek
- Leave unnecessary electronics and valuables behind, or keep them secured in a waterproof bag
- Check the minimum age restriction for your chosen route before booking
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time at the meeting point
